I didn’t know that. I’m a bit surprised too, since I’d assume that 6 months after leaving office, a Veep has classified info in their heads that someone might want to extract.

I think he really wants one of these people to be killed. He can't risk actually shooting somebody on Fifth Avenue, but if someone takes out Harris or Bolton, he'll have the secret satisfaction of knowing he made it happen.

Don't fully agree. The American ideal is that you return to being a citizen when you leave office, and we shouldn't have a burgeoning security state protecting more + more ex-officials (Bolton) and their family (Biden's kids), etc. Of course Trump will abuse this himself.

In fact, he did in 2020, right? He extended Secret Service protection for his adult children just before leaving the White House.
