I knew he played a few instruments but not that many. People that are so talented in music or any type of arts are usually a little different or unique should I say.

No. He explicitly stated he was not gay. His appearance and performances were seen by some as a challenge to gender norms, not an indication of his personal sexuality. I saw him in an interview.
