He popped out of his basket and walked the few steps, plopped down in front of me and went back to sleep. My movements woke him, of course, and as always there is the wary side-eye toward the phone. He's a good boy this morning. #WhiskersWednesday

I've just returned after being gone a couple of hours and he's back in his place between me and the keyboard. More a case of lobbying for something than affection, but you never know.

Seems like he'd actually missed me. He happily ate the food I gave him, then came back and tried to crawl onto my chest, so I cuddled him there for awhile and he never moved, just stayed and purred. I'm not usually gone for so long.

Dogs, yes, but I never think of cats that way. Spencer surprises me sometimes that way. He likely slept the whole time I was gone.

I haven’t had that many cats but the ones I’ve had have all been very attached to me. They’re definitely more independent than dogs but I’ve felt they’ve been very much aware of and attentive to me.
