LRT: there's a lot of useful terms that were obliterated from orbit as soon as reactionaries and uninformed people heard them, but "X-coded" might be one of the most glaring examples

Is it valid/ok to say that the on-screen portrayal of Murderbot is autism-coded? I've used that phrase once, but would like to know if I should use something more accepting?
the term itself is fine + you're using it in a perfectly acceptable context, the one which it is designed to discuss what I'm complaining about is when people say things like "who else feels like cooking is Female Coded and being a soldier is Male Coded" lol
I never liked x coded cause it relied heavily on stereotyping
going back to 2014 to tell myself "hey, so, you know how Garnet from Steven Universe isn't Literally black, but her character design is clearly meant to Evoke blackness? awesome. in ten years that concept is going to evolve into a new way of saying 'men who drive Fords are gay'"
