This was a year ago. And I can't even remember which of our regularly scheduled gun massacres prompted it. Oh well, my number didn't come up today. Might as well go back to the wheel again.

We should do like Star Trek: "You were just killed in a mass shooting. You have 24 hours to report to the disintegration chamber."
Clearly, gun owners will NOT protect us from tyranny, fascism or our govt abusing power. Time to put 2A to bed. Im a cop kid, fam full of vets. Was always tolerant of 2A until it became mental illness and obsession itself. Im past rational regulation.
Here's a school bomb threat today, for a little variety, I guess bsky.app/profile/wtoc...
It's a bit like that Shirley Jackson story The Lottery, except the lottery in this case is who gets to die senselessly today because of gun violence?
You beat me to it
And unlike in Jackson's story, our lottery serves no purpose. The only harvest our lottery improves is the harvest of death.
I would like to petition that the wheel's name be changed from Roulette to the Joni Ernst Wheel.
Just remember - the NRA insists that all these gun massacres are just a small price we pay because the 2nd Amendment insures that no dictator will ever become President and use the military against American civilians. Oh, wait...
It's like being a villager in The Lottery by Shirley Jackson. The sacrifice must be made, but nobody remembers why.
In the name of “freedom”
💔
Super exciting for the English Dept that every single day is Shirley Jackson's *The Lottery* day for class assignments.
So what have done to make any positive change? You have a lot of people who listen to you. I have no idea why.
Been playing since about ‘81. St Louis was the stray bullet capitol of the world because the safest person to be when gangsters are shooting is the person they’re mad at.
Well, just enjoyed over 2 months without school shootings.
That’s what is so distressing. There is an extremely high probability that there will be a mass shooting in the United States on any given day, and a very low probability, but not zero, that any particular individual will be a victim. It’s just random chance. This is no way to live
And the people who push more guns as a solution... They don't send their kids to public schools They don't walk into a Walmart to shop. And the people who prevent anything being done {looking at you Republicans}... They like their odds at the wheel. It could happen in their backyard and shrug.
Rinse & repeat
My workplace was built long before we had to worry about this sort of thing. The doors are in line with one another. All you can do is try to hide, and, there aren't many places to do so.
