Gutsy move by the flight attendants, refusing to be bullied. The whole country should be behind them because the decline of unions parallels the decline of the middle class. Nothing terrifies cowardly gazillionaires like Jeff Bezos like the threat of strong unions.

I was a unionized worker for 13 years. I support their right to strike.

Air Canada is no longer a crown corporation and should therefore not rely on the federal government to help solve any work or contract disputes they may have, such as with the pilots (September 2024) and now with the flight attendants.

How so? Air Canada is not the only airline in the world. This is not COVID.

LOL. Extra business for WestJet. Also, Air Canada Jetz is not affected by this strike.

Lol West jet doesn't have the capacity and will absolutely raise ticket prices. Demand vs supply.

I’m a federal worker in the DC area and our weak unions allowed the tRump regime to trample on our collective bargaining agreements which had allowed hybrid telework schedules. Federal unions aren’t allowed to strike here. So if a union has option to strike., do it and don’t back down.

Can’t believe back to work order came so fast, that doesn’t seem fair. Unions do have to be a bit more transparent or honest in their communications. Arguing publicly for pay while aircraft aren’t moving is disingenuous when the hourly wage is inflated and compensates for it, for example.
