I posted this 20 months ago in an unmentionable place. It has become no less true.

We should never underestimate the extent to which the BBC changed this country by giving endless airtime to Nigel Farage, other far right extremists and the Tufton Street junktanks, while shutting out progressive voices.

I was listening the other week to @newint.bsky.social's podcast abt #SpyCops, and one of the participants talked abt how basically a generation of left activists has been pretty much blocked from entering institutions like the BBC because of their bogus police files. We have to learn from the experience of Johnson as PM. Initially they appear charismatic but fragile egos need to strut, need self aggrandisement, need revenge, they are grandiose, have no emotional intelligence or empathy, no interest in needs of electorate. Narcissists are toxic in public office.

I also did several complaints to BBC and OfCom and all of them led nowhere. Is just a waste of time that will allow the BBC and OfCom to defend themselves by saying they have “robust complaints procedures that take us seriously”, which is of course gaslighting.
