Gavin Newsom & Governor JB Pritzker Elon Musk and Donald J. Trump are characterizing Canada the way Putin did Ukraine before the invasion. As a proud Canadian and grateful resident of California for 24 years and former resident of Illinois, I call upon each of you to demonstrate Political Courage, and make clear to the Trump administration that any military annexation of or incursion in Canada will result in your, and of like-minded fellow governors, immediate implementation of a policy of secession out of the United States, starting with the withholding of your states’ federal taxes and the blocking of any effort to federalize your National Guard. The Democratic Party has long been heavy on flowery oratory but a complete failure when it comes to robust leadership as is evident given the party’s silence and lack of coordination in the face of a coup by the Executive. This is not about the Democratic Party — it is about Democracy. It is not about the Republican Party — it is about the Republic. The time for friendly podcasts is over. Though I arrived alone in Chicago as I turned 17, I have never forgotten that I am the son of a Holocaust Survivor — I have known Elon Musk personally for 14 years and understand what horrors will befall America and her Allies if this administration is not loudly denounced and kept in check at every corner. Having lived and studied in Canada, and having a great appreciation for Canada and its many peoples, I appreciate your stand against Elon and everything he represents. From an American, who voted for Kamala, I apologize for the awful way the Trump administration is treating the True North.

I hope Canada cancels his citzizenship, declares him enemy on the state, starts to size his assetts and treat him as a foreign agent. The war has started yesterday. The longer Canadians ignore it, the more actual violence will take place.
