Republicans don't care that they're hypocrites. This doesn't work on them. If anything, it gives their side legitimacy, as you are using their rhetoric as an argument.

Sorry, but pointing out the absurdity of blaming an entire demographic group for the actions of a few does not give any side legitimacy. And it may work on some of "them", because like Muslims, they are not all one homogenous group that behaves exactly the same (to the point of the original post).

It gives the argument legitimacy that it's an actual argument, as you are using their rhetoric against them as a refutation of their rhetoric. I'll repeat: Republicans do not care that they are hypocrites. You do not have to engage with them on their grounds for a dunk.
