If it's possible to do so, the people in Texas who lost loved ones in the flooding should file a class action suit against the government. This tragedy was avoidable and because the government failed them, their loved ones died.

I could definitely see it back in May when there was a tornado outbreak in Michigan. The tornado warning for heavily populated Oakland County only came after it passed my home.
Meanwhile, the rest of the state was warned just fine? Weird.
It looked to me like the NWS was getting behind as the night went on. They gave timely warnings for the counties west of us. It was obvious there were funnel clouds headed to Oakland County if you were watching the local news. But the warnings were coming later and later over time.
I live in the Lansing area, so they might not have even been covering Oakland. I didn't start following Michigan Storm Chasers until the day after and I know they would've warned.

There were specific warnings and offers of funding to help prevent this exact situation NINE YEARS ago, and the local GOP Officials declined it and ignored it ... I foresee lawsuits against them personally before all is said and done on this!

Trust me, you and I agree, and your number is correct as far as I know. Anyone who tries to claim the wide majority of people in this area of Texas aren’t red is plain wrong. My hope is this unspeakable tragedy at least opens some previously very closed eyes. The pain is palpable in Texas.
