Chokecherries are picked and processed, as are the apples. The beans were late, but they gave us a few good picks, and there may be more before the grasshoppers finish them. It's dark at 9 pm. It's dark at 5:30 AM. Autumn comes early in Saskatchewan. Winter is long and painful. Does summer exist?
Um, do grasshoppers demolish beans?? My dad on Saltspring Island in BC has been fighting some unknown entity eating his bean plants to nothing. We assume rabbits, rats, ??? Never thought of grasshoppers!
They eat the buds, leaving the bare stalks.
