Unfortunately, I believe that Internet Archive has very conflicting interests for artists, at the age of gAI. Under the pretext of fighting the hegemony of GAFAM, IA is completely aligned with their interests. They strongly defend that training a model on copyrighted content is faire use.
This lawsuit shows their poor respect for IP and diminishes the ability of artists to defend themselves. Already today, only the big majors can do it... I don't believe that IA is anything other than a web scrapper hidden behind open source.
