I live there, and honestly it's some of both. International tourism is WAY down, but also Vegas has become much more expensive. The combination is not great.

I would agree it is more expensive, but a year ago the prices were the same. We were doing great. It’s the tRump effect. Plus the economy in general is sucking wind. The MSM wants to blame anything but him.
As someone that’s been traveling to Vegas 1-2x year for 10+ years, it’s 100% about affordability now. Vegas is INSANE pricey now; table games are crazy, food and drinks are crazy, hotel deals are meh / semi-affordable. It’s really difficult to want to go to Vegas these days.
Plus Sports gambling is doing just fine as a distributed system you can load on your phone.
Gambling can be a lot cheaper online, too. You can literally play for pennies.
👍 Not just sports gambling but all gambling!
At least for some of us, legally speaking. Wish more states would get on board with interstate poker, so I could maybe play something other than Hold Em and Omaha at Pokerstars.
Also true! You can now gamble from the comfort of your own home. Why spend a couple thousand dollars to go do it with a bunch of other people?
+ all these ridiculous service fees on EVERYTHING. wouldn't be suprised if they add a fee on breathing the air.
I keep reading these stories thinking I could probably get a cheap hotel in Vegas right now. Nope. Not even cheap midweek in summer. Who would go? Cheap hotels are supposed to be the draw and you spend money elsewhere. But hotel prices mean people won’t even book.
Same. They aren’t hurting enough to give us a damn deal!
