So you are 65 years old. When the Act was passed, slavery had been outlawed for 100 years. So how old was the slave you met and how were you. Math not adding up. Help us understand.

Seriously? Your math sucks. So do your assumptions. I get it. I mean, Posse Comitatus means troops in LA would be illegal. That means, there ain't any, eh?
What assumptions? I’m reading your information and that might make that former slave about 110 when you met him. What’s LA got to do with anything you wrote?
Firstly, your math sucks. The voting rights act DID NOT pass 65 years ago. Nor was slavery abolished 100 years ago. That being said, the date you are using to incorrectly arrive at your numbers is merely the date that Lincoln declared slavery illegal, not the date it ended. Secondly, LA was
my futile attempt to get you to come to the above conclusion on your own w/out having to spell it out to you. Thirdly, in the future you may want to avoid speaking for more than yourself, ie: "Make *US* understand" as it is a red flag indicating a person is a bully. Rethink your conclusions.
I'm gonna nitpick just a moment. Outlawed didn't mean it's gone, but he seems to think nobody breaks laws for profit and pride or when they don't agree with it. Naivety is a sad thing to see in what I assume is an adult.
I've not been awake long enough to address the last part without rereading a bunch. There are still state laws that allow certain forms of slavery in the south. The civil war didn't END slavery in the US. On that note here, have something to chew on for a bit. YOU can meet ex-slaves too.
You know, (at the risk of re-opening a dialogue I've been done with since the first "question") that's a pretty valid point. I really can't argue that I knew the context of the situation. I was a child, over half a century ago, when I was told about the backstory of this man. I can't ask 1/
for any further information at this point. I've always kind of assumed they were talking about American history, and still believe they were, but I certainly can't prove it. Not that I think it really matters. The question was meant to invalidate the point I was making..which it doesn't. 2/
Anything, I suppose, is better than reminding some people that the World they thought was out there is an illusion. A harmful one too.
I don't know why people do that, do they think they're perfect or never make mistakes? Maybe remember the wrong thing or whatever? His home DID get bombed, but that was some 10+ years before his death.
You are right about the bombing in 1956 at MLK’s home. The correction was not meant to be critical, just needed.
Do you mean states that allows for involuntary servitude? Many state constitutions have that wording in regard to incarcerated people being forced to work. The 13th Amendment abolished slavery except for those rightfully incarcerated. Don’t know what other countries do about slavery.
That's a large part of it. Having trouble recalling details, woke up hours earlier than usual by roof construction.🥱 This all is based on you calling the mistreatment of minorities, in this case black, "old news" and assuming everybody affected is dead.
Where did any of that come from the words I wrote.
Go read your own comments
Oh you mean don’t pay reparations to dead people and don’t commit crimes? Read into that what you want.
Dang, how really good at dodging the point. How long can you keep it up?
Now, if you are fully awake, what is your point?
