Nobody can know this at this point it time. But British people are very complacent: I've heard it time and time again in discussions that Britain could never turn extreme right wing or Nazi "because we defeated the Nazis in WW2!" With an attitude like that, you make it possible!

Ok I agree that we can’t know the future but in my humble layman opinion Yea the British told Hitler where to go cos that’s what we all Wanted and also The British have a stronger albeit non written “constitution” and values And traditions that no bleeding farage is going to destroy

I wouldn't hold my breath, if I were you. The fact that there is no written British constitution makes it easier for demagogues! The fact that the First-Past-The-Post UK electoral system gets a party into government on 35% of the vote with unlimited power for 5 years doesn't bode well, either!

What gets me is that Nigel Farage, who was clueless regarding the UK exit of the EU, and didn't even expect to win the referendum - and then buggered off for a couple of years as he didn't want to be associated with the fallout of it, could get as high in the polls as he does now! That says a lot.

Could be that Labour and tories are not v popular so people try the others Not that he through own hard work has amassed so many followers He does have some edge that he speaks without constraint ns most politicians have some and that’s refreshing for some but dig deeper ns it’s ugly

The UK electoral system favours parties with the high numbers. Every smaller party will be thrown in the bin. And that plays into the hands of Farage! I'm always amazed how few British people actually understand their own electoral system, or know how much better Proportional Representation is!

Fossil fuel industries, aren't they? Hence, all the desire to ditch net zero, restart fracking, "drill baby drill," re-open coal mines, halt renewables.
