I like your name N yeah I agree
I'm not armed because I'm afraid of immigrants or brown people. I'm armed because ICE and police are gangs of terrorists that rape, murder, and pillage and do so with impunity. This now includes armed forces who are set to police us, citizens, who they see as enemies of the state.
Words mattered. Demilitarize the police would have been more effective, since too many Americans don’t know the difference between defund and shut down.
sounds like it's the Americans' fault for not knowing the difference
This is a perfect example of the dumbass white logic on play. “You shouldn’t say you want A, you should say you want Z! That’s the same thing, right? I’m saying it is.” Also very funny when the democrats are the ones who “militarized the police” in the first place!
Except that wasn’t the goal, and it wouldn’t have addressed the problem.
I legit think liberals confuse their own gaslighting; when they say words that mean one thing but themselves mean another; with actual reality. Defund means “less cops in less places less integrated into our society until the bare minimum, which is entirely reorganized.” That’s not “demilitarized”
"Fuck the police" is somehow a less controversial statement than "Defund the police"
Letting the lie soak in that it was a losing slogan that drove normies rightward is INFURIATING. 2020 was the only time that phrase was prominent in electoral circles, the Dems won a sweep, no one actually defunded the police, big box stores admitted lying about shoplifting, and here we are.
Cops rioted all 2020 long.
It was all the bait and switch by white liberals. They knelt in kente cloth in 2020, acted contrite, and then in 2021 they unleashed the fake crime wave hysteria and the endless scolding about how “some people” find defund to be confusing and scary.
I think that gives the Carville set too much credit of foresight. They blow with the wind. Police unions and PIOs flooded complicit media with scare stories about shoplifting and the Dems blew with that wind instead of fighting for an ideal.
That infantilizes democrats too much and assumes they have no stake in white supremacy, police violence, and imprisonment. And that’s simply not true.
They absolutely have a stake in existing structures of oppression but I don’t think they have the spine to attempt to move the needle in any direction. They are extremely invested in triangulation of public opinion rather than guiding public opinion.
I don’t agree with that at all, when it really counts and they’re hurting people at the bottom they absolutely can and will. Look at the state and local level, they do it there all the time. They did it with Palestine, police, the homeless, etc
And they are held harmless in court if they reasonably believe your house was the correct one, even if it isn't.
“Trump is Hitler and they will come in the night for you. Also you were so deeply silly for wanting to defund them.”
One to the two to the three to the four Them dirty Red Dogs just hit the door Defund the police was only crazy to anyone ignorant (willfully or otherwise) of history, at which point they shouldn't even be in the conversation.
