I actually think it’s pretty funny. Idk, I’ve come to enjoy the snark of someone explaining a 12 dollar latte to me or why X singer is garbage or why THIS translation is the ONLY way to read Dante. It’s weirdly refreshing to see individuality present in a retail environment, so I cherish it haha
I definitely have a favorite translation of Dante (Dorothy L. Sayers) but I’m not gonna give you lip if you like the John Ciardi translation, y’know? I’m just gonna tell you I think Sayers is better to me because she preserved the terza rima interlocking rhymes of Dante in English! Which RULES!
Now the explanation of a $12 latte? That I’ve gotta hear, because I worked as a barista a long time ago, so I want to hear that “in this essay I will…” 😁
