OK, so you pretend the post said something different (ethical products are inconvenient) and then argue against that imaginary post. The actual point was... many people, both left and right, hold opinions based on emotions and group-think, and make little effort to check their facts.

I agree with you, that’s why I don’t like arguments from analogy—it’s pure emotive reaction, an EWWW, not analysis or critique—which is why I thought the “anybody notice that this sounds like another belief system” was so funny.
