Hurricane Katrina hit my hometown 20 years ago. I feel honored for the opportunity to write about one small slice of it -- the Superdome, and its triumph resurrection. This one was really special to me. Please check it out: www.washingtonpost.com/style/trends...

New Orleans should be abandoned and allow the river to flood it. It's only a matter of time before the water reaches its natural level.

With the peak of hurricane season ahead of us and cuts to the weather service and FEMA, another Katrina is possible. The most states impacted if it happens are red ultra MAGA and Trump states. Karma is a bitch.

I'll never forget the first report on CNN. A White Lady speaking to Andersen Cooper, she had a shoe and a brick in her hand, and said that was all she had left in her life. When I looked at her face, I knew she was not exaggerating. It just got worse from there. Shame on George W. Bush.

New Orleans gentrification began with your stupiddome and finished it's dirty work in Katrina's wake. I REMEMBER BLACKWATER THUGS keeping poor residents from returning to NOLA. Event centers like this ALWAYS DISPLACE POOR PEOPLE NO MATTER WHERE and Katrina was allowed to cause NOLA's cultural death
