Does a text written 2600 years ago apply to trans people?

Lots of religious authorities love to use these old texts to bash us so that’s why I ask.

The answer is: religion is not stagnant, and the Bible is not literal. We interpret the Torah to understand the avot (ancestors) and how they thought. We bring new light to the text. So maybe it did, once. We don’t actually know. But that doesn’t matter! I’m sure the Orthodox believe it does.
