This is true of Cheney; he requested & received an extra 6 mos of protection from Obama. But not Biden or Pence. I was surprised learning about Pence; I would've thought he would’ve requested & received extra protection due to 1/6 but apparently did neither. I am outraged by Trump’s actions 1/2
Especially since he arranged for his kids to have extended protection but wish these articles would give info for context. Until reading about this, I didn’t realize how short the protection is for former VPs and that they didn’t receive it at all until 2008. 2/2
That being said, Trump’s move here is dangerous and petty and clearly seems timed to coincide with the book tour announcement as he could’ve revoked her protection in July after 6 months if he was doing this to be in line with the statutory protection. He is a menace to everyone.
