I think it's time for trans folks to recognize we can't keep playing along with a movement adamantly dedicated to throwing us under the bus. We have to fight for ourselves first and foremost.

This isn't just about shitlibs, even. Lots of actual leftists gives me this vibe of "trans-positive if they agree with me" as I'm sure you've noticed. It's why threatening to vote red if Newsom or anyone like him is on the ticket pisses them off.

In the end, I always figured this would happen simply because the entire structure of politics as a concept promotes transphobia, especially in this era of transphobia being promoted by constant peer pressure. Just like how both the Dems and GOP were vehemently antiblack from 1880-1930
