Dog-eat-dog conservatism has never appealed to me. MAGA is a particularly bad strain which has infected many minds. The Conservatives in Canada take their cues from American Republicans, which is truly sickening.

Conservatives sell the future to promise a better life like a yesterday, when everything was way better, cheaper and more fun. They will say and do anything to stay in or gain power. Stay vigilant, time only moves forward and it isn’t a complete unknown if you can plot trends in history.

It’s frightening to think how some Canadians can look at the US in its current state and still hope to emulate their policies. We need to stay diligent and resist any efforts, no matter how small, to take us in that direction. We’ve seen how quickly it can happen.

The roots of the CPC (along with its donors) are in the US tea party now MAGA Republicans, not in the Canadian Progressive Conservative or Reform parties. They desperately needed the Conservative brand name for cover. The same is true for the UCP. #cdnpoli
