Racism is a tool of the bourgeoisie. It is but one of many tools that the ruling class uses to divide the population along identity lines and keep us from focusing our energy toward the class struggle.

No, it’s not. Racism is a persistent ideology throughout economic levels in America. White people, even the poor, have the highest measurable metrics of prosperity in the U.S.. Black ppl have the lowest outcomes in every metric and do not habitually vote for racists.
Rich people do not force voters to be racist. They do not convince poor voters to support racist laws, believe racist myths, and deny the very soul of this country. Racism is not some trick ppl whip out of a hat. Americans make every day decisions entangled with racism everyday.
Racism is not the only bigotry at play here either. Transphobia, xenophobia, ableism, sexism, religious bigotry and extremism, so many of these are building blocks to how Republicans decide to do politics. It works because voters want to cause harm not just a prosperous nation.
Just as I am fine paying higher taxes for universal programs. They are fine with destabilizing the U.S. to hurt marginalized communities. That is also why so many voters of Trump are shocked when the consequences come home to them. These actions are supposed to hurt other people.
You just proved my point. The voters are fed scapegoats to keep them distracted away from the class struggle. They have been propagandized since birth to believe the source of their suffering is marginalized communities rather than capitalist exploitation.
This is why they're finding it hard to believe they got scammed again to enrich Trump and his cronies. Because the lie they were fed was that the source of their problems was their neighbors.
Rather than believe that the source of all our suffering is capitalist exploitation, they buy into identity politics, dividing the working class by identity lines.
It is not my intention to minimize the impact of racism on American history, and western culture in general. I just mean to say the class struggle intersects with all identity based struggles.
