I remember in Japanese the phrase "ねこがいます" (neko ga imasu). Which is basically just "there is a cat." This is only memorable because you could also say "ねこがあります" (neko ga arimasu), which is essentially the same, but that cat is not alive. Maybe not what you're looking for but 🤷

So, basically, "there is a dead cat"?

Basically. Imasu and arimasu are used (as I remember) to denote ambulatory nature, or life (but that's a little more loosey goosey). Like a tree is alive, but uses arimasu.
