Same thing happened to me 1 year after I got top surgery and was hit with a 18k bill. So sorry this is happening to you.

Luckily I got some financial assistance from my college and the surgeon's office (they were so pissed on my behalf and wanted to help me). But it was still quite a blow and a shock. It should seriously be illegal.
