Iran already had a deal with the US, JCPOA aka Iran nuclear deal. Trump because of his hate for Obama decided to tear that deal and let Iran build their nuclear program. Now Israel is attacking because of the consequences of not having JCPOA. So yes, the upcoming war was started by Trumps actions.
