It took a few minutes for me to comprehend that the gunman was fatally shot not by police, but by armed church security. A quick-thinking parishioner first struck the gunman with his pickup truck, stopping him as the guards prepared to fire. Mind-boggling that this is America right now.

America, where we have more guns than people, not enough restrictions on them, insufficient mental health care and churches have to have armed security personnel. I remember as a child being able to attend church without worries we'd all come home. Our gov't isn't interested in making us safer.
