All I see is the hunt for where Donald Trump is. Meanwhile, a Republican House member of the Armed Services Committee is essentially tweeting out a call for war against Venezuela while warships approach.

Scary stuff. While I can't think of any valid reason for the use of military force against Venezuela I can't even think of a semi coherent false pretense. What is it that the far right wants with Venezuela? I can't even see a coherent bad faith rationale. Regime change? To pretend he is cracking
down on drug trafficking routes that originate from other nations? Simple propaganda? To justify inhumane deportations and use of AEA or something? WTF is this all about?
A full invasion would be insane and the American public would largely not support such a thing, I think. Gun boat diplomacy will alienate even more allies, hurt trade, and I don't think it will do anything to harm anyone like China much who gets a small portion of their oil from Venezuela. So why?
What is the angle here? What is the perceived payoff for Trump?
