One thing about all these reviews and SLAMS of kids movies is like... the kids like them. I thought lightyear was bad (I don't think it really fulfilled it's conceit of "the 90s animated adventure that got Andy excited about Buzz) but my kid was obsessed for a while. He saw Elio and loved it.
Yeah and honestly i thought they were both fine, too much emphasis on what adults say about them before they're even released
I know we shouldn't cop out and say "kids movies shouldn't be held to any standards because kids will watch it if it looks cool enough" but like, for a lot of this shit I get the same vibe as adult Marvel/Star Wars fans being mad whenever they are reminded that the mainline shit is for kids.
