Wait, Is that the "we don't call for reinforcements" guy?
Wait, Is that the "we don't call for reinforcements" guy?
yes
I would normally make a joke, but I'm honestly sorry that it ended up this way. I at least hope y'all weren't close.
It's been a weird journey. Times and people change... I've had to distance myself from from dudes I worked with for 20 years. And being in a Unit like the 210th, these people become like family. It's been really tough to navigate.
It has been very painful yeah.
I find some solace in knowing that we're on the right side of history and that there are indeed other Veterans like you out there Jack. We're not alone.
History is made by men with guns and bombs, I don't know about the rest.
I hear ya Jack… but history isn’t only written on battlefields. It’s in the moral stands people take when silence would’ve been easier. Guns and bombs leave craters, but craters fade man. History can also be defined by who we choose to stand beside.
Pretty close. I visited him and his family down in Tampa after we were both out of the Army.
Sucks for his family. I have a friend who went down a similar path, and the guy used to be such a good dad. It's wild.
I’d text him that photo every 1/6 and sternly remind him to never “pull that stupid shit ever again.”
