The reason is Vance does not have the weird power over the Maga mob that Trump does, so the Magas in Congress would be more scared of losing their next election than of defying Vance. That would likely be an improvement, though not a big one.

I don't know how we even measure. They are all awful, but in different ways. But I think Vance is vulnerable, and I think about a dozen other Magas think they are the rightful heir to the throne, from RFK to Ivanka to Stephen Miller. I think it will be chaotic times.
