I was watching the intro for Katrina Come Hell or High Water. There is a man recording g a selfie video. No one had a cellphone of that quality in 2005. Why do they need to fake points. Reality is terrible enough.

That’s a camcorder video
They were not clear like that then. I have not seen the show, but from what I saw, something is not right.
It was likely remastered. I run into that with older movies all the time. Like the Wizard of Oz and Star Wars were not shot in 4K HDR.
Possible. But did the average phone in 2005 have that much storage? Could we record videos that long? It feels disingenuous. But I did not watch it. Maybe I should.
Camcorder video could. Nobody was shooting selfie videos on a phone in 2005. I had a very geeky Treo 600 and it did not even offer video. At least I had no video files in the folder with all those pictures.
It was not a camcorder. The flip around filming is something you could not do on a camcorder. Take a look at it. I’m not confident that people used the vernacular at that time. It feels off.
You could turn the camcorder around and point it at yourself. They were small enough to hold in one hand
I don’t have Netflix. I’m also struggling finding any mention that it used recreations. Should be able to find that by now if true. It is not unthinkable that the video is cleaned up and edited, but unless I go sail the seven seas, I’m not going to be able to watch it.
I need to see what you talking about here. Camcorders were smallish then but not selfie small. That was the time of either tripod at a dance recital vids or very very shaky vomit inducing videos
Let me know what you think.
My Nikon camera from the time period (8MP, IIRC, had a flip around view screen for selfie-esque and video recording capabilities...) I'll check this out soon...
I’m searching for it now but the more I think about it, Katrina was literally the first time I texted. That Nextel phone had a potato for a camera. And probably all of 140x140 resolution. Let me see this…
Watch the Netflix intro. I watched some of it and parts seem legit but parts just do not. Photos from inside the hospital taken with a Camera are grainier than that.
It was definitely a video camera.
