A great game that I absolutely sucked at.
A great game that I absolutely sucked at.
"Welcome to Mario Kart!" Man this title screen is/was magical
First time I ever played Mario Kart 64 was at Blockbuster. When the had the systems out to try.
Having played this with my kids just a few weeks back, it still can be the ingredient in some pretty great games =)
Damn it, pretty great days is what I meant 😂
i love this mario kart so much. i can hear the ~welcome to mario kart~ echoing thru my childhood bedroom
The battle mode was superior to all Mario kart games
Peach mains rise up ✊🍑
Yes it was
Letsa go!
Such a great game!!
"Welcome to Mario Kart!"
"Welcome to bonus stage!"
That era of videos games worked so much better than many current ones because they wasn't a simulation of anything. It was a game, played like a game, could do things that weren't real and it felt great. Getting it just right was a thrill.
Mario 64 and Fzero were my magical N64 games
Toad > all else Also, Royal Raceway was the best course with Yoshi Valley a close second (imo)
Toad's Turnpike being turned into an entire game with Mario Kart World is my childhood dream come true.
battle?
We never had a Nintendo 64. We wanted one so bad.
Till this day, I feel this game has one of the best retro feel soundtrack for the N64. Royal Raceway and Toad's Turnpike.
That brings me back to some good memories with family.
Some of us were playing Dark Forces 2 Jedi Knight mate.
The moment you here “Welcome to Mario Kart” you know you’re in for a good time! Forever my favorite Mario Kart❤️
I'm with you on that one, I think it's always going to be my personal favorite too. PLUS.... it has the best battle mode.
Oh for sure!! Nothing can even come close to how good that battle mode is! Some sessions I’d play that more than actually racing.
I'm with you, but the N64 had two more great multiplayer funracers that I feel should get more love. Diddy Kong Racing, naturally, and I loved the clever ideas and super atmospheric Snowboard Kids with its peak 90s soundtrack.
My mom was diabolical in this game
I was like holy shit. This game is amazing.
I so loved this game
love 😍😍
legendary sprite building here btw
saw the image, theme song started playing in my head. A+++++
Top-tier kart.
I still see a weird, buck-toothed face in the backsides of the karts from that game because that's what I saw as a kid.
Good times.
Friday nights, friends came over after high school, stayed up all night with pizza and soda playing this as we had no school to worry about. The best of times.😄

Unfortunately I was just born 3 months ago so I doubt I would appreciate it lol
I'm a'Warrio I'm a going to win
It’s 2025 and I just switched on Mario Kart 64 for the somethingth time. It’s the perfect day
I have some of the tracks in my video game playlist on Spotify. Rainbow Road and Mario Raceway forever!
I remember my brother tailing me in Big Donut. I threw a shell behind me, which immediately hit him, knocking him out of the game. Years later, we’re playing MarioKart World, which has a remake of Big Donut as a battle map. He’s tailing me. I throw a shell behind me, knocking him out of the game.
This footage but with the daytona song instead.
Let's be real, any game is better with that song.
I played this at summer camp, it’s a good game
*Kid me turns it on* "Wait a minute...I hate multiplayer games!"
did you guys ever figure out what happens when you come in 4th at the end of the game? its funny af, the top three do their thing and you get taken off to the side and a bomb blows you up lol
The flashbacks i got from 6 year old me
