Social media is supposed to be fun. Yet it seems to make people feel so sad the more they use it, it seems. I’m seeing quite a lot going through it not just on this app but on others as well.
For me it's literally JUST Bluesky right now. No scrolling through Discord, Reddit, Facebook, YouTube, anything. Oh man, I was addicted to Reddit for quite some time, but there are just too many poopy people there, it was so frustrating. 😕

People out there keep bashing Bluesky simply out of bias since they want to keep spouting brainrot claims and content, but this really does feel like the only social media left where people are still sensible and can talk about whatever without being at each other's throats. People just suck...

I know the feeling there were times recently, where I wanted delete all my social media’s but then I realize I use them to promote my YT channel.

I’d suggest not deleting accounts and just setting everything to private. Never know what the policies for using discarded usernames is so someone could theoretically eventually pose as you if deleted
I love to hear it. At the end of the day social media is supposed to be enjoyable. If it makes you feel worse, it’s best to cut back.

That's a great idea. I have actually used social media a lot less, mainly Reddit for browsing and an occasional convos, but coming here is always nice as I know seeing things I am interested like from you and other gaming peeps is guaranteed to be beneficial to me and not just a slog of garbage.

I deleted all my Meta stuff and twitter crap earlier this year and don't miss it. I do more things for me now instead of mindlessly scrolling through reels and bot content

I come here, post a few times a day, reply around as I see stuff, and continue with my life. I used to check reddit but it was always angry. I barely check anything other than this and YouTube anymore. There's no pressure to always be on top of my feed. Feels like the way it should be.
Honestly, this is just the world we have to get used to unfortunately if we want to post and view content. Bluesky has been good about it lately but I guarantee you it will get more toxic over time. What comes down to it is if we are strong enough to bear it. I don't blame you if it's too much.

It's been difficult, recently, to not absorb the mindless bs on here, but I remember coming here for video game and general nerd content. Maybe I need to just curate my feed. I miss the feeling of when I first came here and it was blissful. I gotta get back to blocking politics on sight again.

I feel like cutting out most of my social media did wonders for me. I feel better, and I spend the time on more useful pursuits. I only really use Bluesky and even that's pretty infrequent.

At this point I have to agree with you, imo it does have to do with being out of touch with younger folk? Trust me I have that issue lol. But you’re right there is a lot of brain rotting content out there now, but to make you feel better a lot of kids now are trying to be more connected!
