they're not following court orders anyway, might as well deny them funding and have them obtain a broken economy

Can you guide me to the text in the bill where it says that?

The part where "the judiciary" is among the things it gives a president the authority to defund on a whim. (Of course this would be moot if anyone would enforce the 14th amendment and remove the ineligible shitbag from an office he's disqualified from holding, but that is a separate issue)

Yeah I’m gonna double down on that request for the text of the bill that says this as it sounds a lot like ‘trust me bro’

Start at page 14, line 4. It allows POTUS to order sequestration (cuts) to meet budget deficits and lists the agencies for which sequestration can apply. Judiciary is one of the 35 listed. www.congress.gov/119/bills/hr...

Yes, but the CR only allows sequestration in accordance with Gramm-Rudman (the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985, Section 251A(6)(D)), which would need to be proportional (reducing all departments by an equal %). That would not shut down the courts.

This supposes a) they won't simply reduce all the listed departments by 100%, b) they actually read a law and understand it, c) they won't pretend it says whatever they want and continue dynamiting the government from within. Their behavior to date does not imply future good faith.

Seems like GOP wouldn’t have an issue proportionally reducing everything else given what they’ve been up to recently, no?
