I think there was some controversy with his website/company/whatever but in general hes kinda just a goober who dosnt really know what hes talking about. Has a lotta weird exaggerated opinions

Dunno about respected. He's kinda early Web 2.0 angry critic style reviewer which is kind of out of fashion these days. He's had some bizarre takes on movies and shows because he's a fairly incurious person. Channel Awesome though has a lot of negativity to it. Lot of employee abuse.

Well it changed by all the creators working under Channel Awesome filing a group protest called "Change the channel" and eventually all leaving. Now it's just Doug and...I think Larry Bundy Jr still there.
