Sorry for you. When my Methodist Sunday School teacher told us that Adam and Eve was a story, not "history," I went home and said to my mother, "Well, if that part of the Bible isn't true, why is the rest true?" She hemmed and hawed and said l had a point. She was a Repub before they were insane.

If I believed in the Rapture and whatnot I’d be supporting policies that encourage Jews to stay OUT of Israel. Like, pay for them to have really nice homes in desirable locations. They get nice houses, and the apocalypse is prevented. Everyone wins!

I never could understand the argument that we should hate Jews for killing Jesus. Now, I'm not a Christian anymore, but last time I checked Jesus' death is what gives us salvation. Shouldn't they be *thanking* the Jews? After all, without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins.

I grew up in the 70s, and was dragged to all sorts of S. Baptist and other holy roller churches. They would show creepy movies to us little kids about the rapture and the Book of Revelation. I would have nightmares all the time. I saw so much racism and hypocrisy that I knew was wrong then. 1/2

My first step was at Bible camp when I was 10-11. It was "get filled with the Spirit" night, and though I sang and prayed the same as everyone else, I didn't start speaking in tongues. For years I thought I'd been personally rejected by God.
