We're at the point where Janet Mills needs to be the trendsetter & say that regardless of her prospects vs his, it's time to pass the torch, & endorse him full heartedly. Let the contrast with a pathetic withering Collins speak for itself if she runs.
I think my only issue is his interview with the Maine Beacon when asked about “connecting with Republicans” he said it’s not a problem because “(all) my Republican friends hate Susan Collins.” mainebeacon.com/graham-platn...
That's oversimplifying his answer quite a bit. And missing an important part of his answer.
The issue isn’t the rest of the answer. It’s “my Republican friends.”
He has republican friends because he’s an oysterman and half the people on the docs that he works on are Republican. He’s the Harbor master; he’s gonna know Republicans. If you live in a small town in Maine, half of your neighbors are republican.
I live in a small town in Upstate NY. I work in an ER. More than half my neighbors and coworkers are Republicans. I still don't make friends out of them.
You really ignore the people you see every day, day in and day out ?
Ignore them, no. But I don't make them my friends. I don't call them "my friends." I treat them respectfully when I need to interact with them, but that's as far as that goes. They directly vote for shit that makes my life more difficult than it otherwise would be. Why would I WANT to interact more?
