I love Bluesky, I can make a post about how there are religious people looking to join progressive/liberal/left circles but asked that people not to deride religion and now my mentions are full of people...deriding religion.

Well in all honesty, the loudest voices against abortion, equality, the lgbtq2+ community are religious people. I grew up around so-called christians and I can attest they are some of the most hateful, two-faced, backstabbing people I have ever known. It’s not all, but there sure as hell is a lot.

bizarre. I didn't bother to reply because it's always seemed obvious that religious people have led some of the most significant political movements. Time to re-read Stepan's Twin Tolerations, in which he reminds us that modern Europe is not 'secular' but that church and state tolerate each other?
