What really bugged me about it was how parents sort of slid into the habbit of keeping their kids in a surveilance bubble if given the opportunity. Like being able to monitor what they were doing on school computers and then panicing if that ability were taken away.
Also the "having phones" -> "safer from school shootings" which is totally logically unconnected. The kid is more likely to die in a car crash going to or from school.
