Ok so after my rage and bafflement, apparently it's to save bandwidth rather than anything wildly nefarious. Still, YT making its creators' content look like AI strikes me as a wildly out of touch decision.

That's a very stupid decision, whatever the reasoning. I have already grown so frustrated w the abundance of AI trailers & slop on my feed. Making it even harder to differentiate between what's AI & what just happens to "look like" AI just results in me NOT watching anything questionable.
