I liked the film as a comedy, and the thought of diminishing intellect or sensibility in society in sombering, but the whole premise of the film is eugenics in it's assumtion that the working class' reproducing too much.

If the film's premise had been extreme cutting education, rolling out mindnumbing entertainment in mass scales, pouring mind-altering drugs into the water supply or whatever, it would have been way more solid as a political comment.

However the premise is a upper class couple 'failing' to have kids and a working class couple having 'too many' - as if people born into an upperclass are more fit to keep society tolerable.
