I have interacted with Canadian in Montreal while door knocking and the sincere reason why PP was high in polls during JT govt was much about JT fatigue and thy were willing to vote anyone but not JT..this was not because PP was seen as ideal leader among the left and traditional conservatives
PP is now in the same place as JT was. I'm tired of seeing or hearing about him.
For PP political miscalculation he thought he was a messiah & he will win the election,he failed to build his base even with conservative pillars likes of Ford & even after losing he hasn’t changed to attract or expand his support because of his demagoguery demeanour
You nailed it. PP was never popular. The CPC don't get it. They keep talking about their record seat count (which didn't include their leader), the vote share (The Liberals also got a record amount of votes). No reflection or soul searching
