Strange how employers aren't leaping to hire people when there's no way to know what economic policy will be in the next week, much less next year. Maybe toilet paper costs 50% more. Maybe the federal gov't breaches a contract with your biggest customer. It's all one big game show, weeeeeee!

And all the CEOs are completely cowed into not saying anything negative about Trump. Freedom!

I honestly think they thought lower taxes and less regulatory barriers would outweigh the ability for their businesses to exist.

I mean, this is it right here. Game show hosts get a lot of attention, and for an attention-starved psychopath, being a president with carte blanche to do whatever he wants (blessed by the Supreme Court) is the best possible job. "Will I pull this lever? Or push this button? Tune in tomorrow!"

Those numbers don't tell the whole story. Over 150,000 federal jobs will be gone after September once the delayed resignation period ends. We will likely be in negative job numbers soon. This also doesn't include all the people who are underemployed and have "jobs" but not good paying ones.
This is what I don’t understand. With the DOGE massacres of entire federal agencies, trump’s extortion of media and academics, and his assault on immigrant workers… how can there be any positive numbers? This is impacting every aspect of our employment economy.
