As a MD resident, I can't decide (I know, I'm cynical) if Van Hollen is angling for a presidential run, or to replace Schumer. Think I'd rather he replace Schumer.
He's already had one minor stroke and just doesn't strike me as a guy full enough of himself to run for president. (He was my congressman before jumping to the Mikulski opening.) Replacing Schumer would be fantastic.
Van Hollen and Maxime Waters are currently part of that "old guard" which I respect clearly and have my blessings and support. If both can manage the Chambers, I would applaud.
