Newsom is seen as a "fighter" but it's the same playbook as Jeffries of letting Trump absorb bad press from doing something unpopular and then play the media. Pritzker and Johnson have been dead serious about stopping the troops, and I am sincerely grateful for their leadership.

Support the thesis but Newsom has backed up talk with redistricting legislation that may save Congress, serious legal challenges to Posse Comitatus that we just won in court.
Newsom set his electability on fire a couple months ago with his podcast appearances, and is doing himself no favors with his treatment of the trans community, but for now we can support his current actions.
