sounds like he might be gifted just my advice as our son was a deep thinker very young and we had testing done and confirmed

We had him tested at five after he took apart our furnace/AC with power tools at 4am, to see how it worked. He is globally gifted, math gifted and autistic. He skipped two grades.

yah our son is 21 so kind tested in the 99% he seem to still love fixing and understanding things
