Kirk was an absolute "kingmaker" for lack of a better phrase. I doubt he could unify a coalition. Just as Vance is seen as this future as well, but they are (obviously) not as in control of the world as they think they are.

“Code-switching” is a great way to describe this talent that the disingenuous have culturally appropriated from POC. If you don’t know the term, it describes how Black or Hispanic people will use their “white voice” in mixed professional formal settings where speaking naturally would threaten ofays.

”Ofay” is a pejorative term that some Black people used for white people ca. 1960s-70s, I assume because it’s Pig Latin for “foe.” I used it because it takes up 1 less character than “whitey.” If you appreciate my glossary style, I could do Pig Latin next.
