Ngl I used Twitter for a bit a few weeks after I turned 16 back in 2022. And not within a week I deleted my acc cause I got traumatized. 100% the best decision of my life, especially since I saw it get more toxic over time.
I have a strong belief that these people (or possibly bots) latch on to controversial and outright untrue statements to maximize engagement. The only reason why I’m on Twitter/X at this point is to report obvious criminal activity. So many scammers. Will delete eventually.
I quit twitter back in October or November last year. Joining Bluesky was a great decision too. Far more calm here from my perspective.

Deleted Twitter after the elections and when I learned of this place. From what I’ve been told, it’s been nothing but a toxic cesspool of outrage, far right propaganda and an infestation of bots. This place has its own issues, but the block function really helps curb toxicity.

I wish I could delete my Twitter, but some of the people I follow on TWATter don't use BlueSky so I'm forcing myself to brave the cesspool that it is in order to keep following them on updates for certain things like indie games and fancomics.

Tbh, I stopped following main stream social media like tik tok, Instagram, etc. Due to it being cesspool of fighting in the worst ways. Its gotten to the point of me not using anything besides discord and this app to contact artist and talk to friends.

I deleted the app everywhere and cleared my account over there. All that’s left is a parked username handle cause you can’t just deactivate it and let it be since Xwitter has bots stealing usernames now. I hate that platform so much. My username handle has been collecting dust since December.
After I deleted it the FOMO was bad but not seeing the app button on my phone and shortcuts on my desktop helped and after a few weeks the FOMO faded. Plus settling into the new social platforms helped too. It definitely wasn’t easy but I am glad to be off of that site.
